Mike

Down in the alligator swamp of the "Ole Okefenoke", master craftsman Mike Rogers roams the mosquito infested woods looking for wood, horns, and stones from which he brings back to the forefront a way of life long forgotten. The craftsman incorporates these pieces into his canes, tomahawks, and knives. The flint and old stone brings to life the blades for knives, spears, and tomahawks which display a long forgotten art. The Suwannee River Cafe stands near the railroad tracks in Fargo as a true testament to the spirit of this community. When the only restaurant in town closed many years ago, Dean Odum purchased this property and built the cafe, so residents would have a place for a meal out. Each evening after his workday was finished, Dean worked on this building, often joined by others in the community who had a little time to help out. Good, honest, homecooked food is the trademark of the Suwannee River Cafe. The cafe features daily breakfast and lunch buffets as well as menu items Monday through Saturday from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. If you're in the area, be sure to join them for their all you can eat Friday Night Catfish; if you miss that, (or if you don't) catch the Quail Dinner on Saturday Night.

The Fargo Golf Course is a 9-hole course on the north side of town on Hwy 441. Golf carts are available for use. Originally built by Superior Pine Products Company, this course was donated to the State of Georgia in the late 1990's. As part of recent cutbacks, the Golf Course was cut from the State's budget and is currently being run by the City.
